If I ever attend a special occasion, or even just an afternoon at the library, I'll discover spinach in my teeth (or in my case, arugula) or a spot on my shirt, or a tangle in my hair... you get the idea. I haven't yet gotten to the point of embracing myself as The Fool, even though I am. I found this wonderful image of a black cat, and since I love black cats (all cats, all animals, really) I gave him/her some colors for this post.

I shared this with my family who loved it. And it did this in less than a minute.
I know there is a lot being said about the negative effects of Ai. I think people don't realize how much Ai is working in places in our lives already. Some writers think you are unserious if you "use Ai to write your book." I don't see how this can happen, because there is a lot more to writing a book or story than that.

Bizarre "events" and "occurrences" begin to happen that make me feel like an outcast. Or, a pariah. (In the Huckleberry Finn sort of pariah, not as an actual outcast of society.)
Recently, five different "incidents" happened at a place where I've been quite comfortable, and used to spending a good deal of time at for the past few years. These incidents brought on feelings of discomfort, and rejection. Even ignored, and mildly criticized. I did nothing out of the ordinary, but now there have been these occurrences. MY reaction? To take a good look at where I'm spending my time. And decide if my time would be better spent elsewhere.
I grieved a bit, felt shock at why this is happening at this particular time, then took a deep breath and looked at a few options. In the past when this has happened (I don't know if this happens to others, but one way to look at it is that when I get very comfortable in an area of my life, something shakes things up, time to do other things, not be so dependent on this way of spending time, time to be open to other things coming into my life. And that is how I am choosing to look at this. New beginnings are waiting for me to step into them. New places? New discoveries? We will have to wait and see what shows up. I only know that change is good and I think it happens for a reason.

There is no way this little fellow could climb up the curb by the highway - the kind of curb that they used to build with a slant but no longer.. So sometimes wildlife gets stuck. Thank God I came along in time so this little one didn't die in the hot sun, by the side of the road. How many hundreds of cars drove right past, not even seeing a tiny turtle by the side of the road...
After a day of getting nice and hydrated again, it was time to be released into the pond.

On the way to the pond, I got to witness a very special treat: a blooming Turk's Cap Lily!
Much to be grateful for.

We are in the midst of an extreme heat wave (but I thought 'climate change' and 'global warming' was a hoax' ?)
(I never thought that, by the way, you can pretend it is all you want, but it is here and has been here for some time. The folly of ignorant humans and we all suffer.)
I will be digging into my Perelandra tools to support my home and property (my "personal environment") when the weather is an issue. Thank you Perelandra, I am grateful to you today and every day.

There was a steady drip drip drip turning into a dribble. Only the hot water tap which gave me further uneasy feelings. A trip to Menards with a photo and measurements revealed that I needed to replaced the 1/4" value. This involved crawling under the stairs to shut off the water first. Under the stairs I discovered a heavy duty pair of tongue and groove adjustable pliers from the last time I needed to preform this task. They were perfect for replacing the value. Yay. The first time with the new value and water turned back on, there were little sprays of water coming out, so I needed to reinstall the value and tighten all the screws again. Not sure if it was right and afraid I was in plumber territory, I tried once more, turned the water on, and no water spraying!
What a relief!!
The unexpected result of this was that although I was exhausted, I felt empowered because of this accomplishment! That short lived burst of invincibility can see you through some things.

My second favorite kind of rainy days, my very favorite being Autumn rainy days, of course. It's a cool grey rainy day and I LOVE it. I feel so energized by this kind of day. I am reminded of the fairies in Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Coming of the Fairies' from 1922, with it's quaint photos of fairies. (I. bought my copy at the Theosophical Society's bookstore, about 45 years ago.. Quest Books was the place to go if you believed in fairies, along with other metaphysical books and discoveries. I believe I also bought my 'A Course In Miracles' books there too, when I was 19.. In those days Quest Books smelled of Sandalwood incense, just the right kind of smell for the bookstore. We look at the quaint fairy pictures now and see how dated they are, but they still have charm. Rainy days and fairies and the scent of sandalwood..
I am grateful for the cool weather we are blessed with this week.
