Let's go back a bit in time, and escape from the ridiculousness of 2025, for a bit. I believe I've written about this book before, I find it charming and delightful. The separate short stories are about two main characters: Basil Duke Lee and Josephine Perry. Josephine is a daring young flapper who gets into the terrible trouble a daring young woman could get into, in 1925.. Prepare to be captivated by the delightful worlds of F. Scott Fitzgerald creates in this book. Writing prompt: write about someone in a different time than the one you are in at this moment. Writing prompt: Write one story or vignette about a female character, and then one about a male character. (Or other genders) How do they relate to their environment? Today I am grateful for: introspection of seeing that I was a "perfect pill" today. (which is a fine Josephine-ism!) Tomorrow we're supposed to be creating zen gardens at the library. I look forward to seeing other crafty library friends who sign up for these classes too. A new month, 10 degree weather and political hijinks are also on the menu. We'll see what tomorrow brings. These Valentines are from the days when I used to love scouting around the antique mall, finding treasures and surprises. These are all in a lovely wooden frame that's been painted with silver paint. Library project: boxes. https://en.makercase.com/#/ On this website you can specify box dimensions, number of sides, number of finger joints (joiners) for your box, whether or not your box has a lid. You can use your box dimensions for any laser cutter or Glowforge, etc. Tom reminded me of this website on my last appointment with him at the library. Thank you Tom! Today I am grateful for the Youtube community 'Ask The Spirit Guides' which is a new discovery for me, and one I'm really enjoying. Karen lives in Wisconsin and, I think because I'm in Illinois, I love her casual midwestern style. She uploaded a couple of videos this morning that were very nice gatherings. I am grateful for these connections this morning. Today I can give from my heart mindfulness in watching what I am saying - words matter! Even if they are only uttered to yourself - they matter. Last night was my last appointment with Tom at the library. I have been reflecting for the past few weeks on the many projects Tom has helped me create using the library's laser cutter. Mostly cutting out wood, but a fair amount of etching projects too. The hour long appointments always flew by! Tom leaves the library but goes on to new adventures, as we do in life. Today I am grateful for my new healthy food and drink creations being crafted by my Ninja blender.
