I love this "kid's definition" of opportunity: A favorable combination of circumstances, time and place. That seems like the coming together of different elements that creates something. Like lines on a map, or in energetic terms, the joining of different energies to create something new. Thinking about an "opportunity" in that sense seems almost mystical, even though it's something we are doing all day long. We do this constantly. Nice to give it the attention it deserves, and perhaps that helps us understand the why of 'why things happen?' This morning integrity has me thinking about the postcards I am mailing out on behalf of our wild horses.. Chasing Horses Wild Horse Advocates https://chwha.org/ has gone to a lot of effort to create postcards to mail out to congress to address the abuses of our wild horses. I find a lot of integrity in their organization. In the past few years it's been painful to learn of horse orgs that do NOT have integrity, and this is heartbreaking as so many people place their trust and give money to orgs without realizing what is really going on. The Bureau of Land Mgmt does not have integrity, nor transparency about what it is doing to our wild horses and burros. Now, back to writing and sending out postcards... I am drawn to thinking about the heart when pondering fidelity. Being loyal to your heart can also mean being loyal to hearing or feeling or sensing your intuition. We know the power of step by step creating success in our lives. Also, the story of the musician who said, (paraphrasing..) that he could miss one day of practice, he'd know it, if he misses two days of practice, his fellow musicians and his teacher will know it, if he misses three days, the world will know it. We are constantly refining our many activities, attempting to streamline our days into more effective living. I've noticed now when i look back, I observe that many of my fears and worries were things I didn't have to give nearly as much energy to than I did. Would I change things if I went back in time? This interesting photo came up when I was looking up the definition for 'restraint.' Is it easier for you to be more open or more restrained? It makes a difference who we're with, where we are, the time of day and so on. A lot goes on within families. I don't think we can get away from our assigned roles until we are out of childhood, because everyone is assigned a role. It is so unconscious and it takes real effort and maturity not to do this to loved ones. Scapegoats all. With real maturity we can stop doing this to others but some people will see you in your role your entire life. That's why you get 50 year olds sstill being spoken to as if they were children. Family rules and family roles run deep. That's why places of nurturing are so important, for health and well being. Make sure you have plenty of places whre you are nurtured. Really nurtured.
