I wrote in a previous post about the serendipitous rediscovery of my Sanaya Roman 'Orin' programs, which are mainly meditations, usually about 20 - 30 minutes each. I've used these daily since late May of this year, in my rediscoveries. It has brought me much happiness. I notice how much more discipline I have, and how it's getting easier to let things go. More awarenesses, more joy. This is a really good thing, as I get older, there are more concerns, healthwise, homewise, etc. etc. I highly recommend daily meditation practices for everyone. Try several and play with them, enjoy the ones you like and note the changes in yourself. You will change, and this is a good thing! Writing prompt: Write about your experiences when you allow yourself to take several "consciousness breaks" throughout the day. Writing prompt: Dig out your meditation audios and try one if it's been a while. Could you do this as a regular practice? #Writingprompt #wordprompt #consciousness #awareness #worldaroundus #hereandnow #beherenow #consciousnnessatrest #Orin #SanayaRoman

One of our best natural instincts is altruism. And thankfully, it can also be learned, it can be taught if you find those instincts need a little nudging in yourself or in others. Hand in hand with empathy, when we can imagine, truly and deeply, the effect we have on others, how the feel, from our good actions we get a chance to really bless the world. Blossoming selflessness and connection can spread in the world around us. Writing prompt: In what area does your altruism really shine? How does that make you feel? Writing prompt: Will you always feel this way? #writingprompt #wordprompt #altruism #gooddeeddoers #empathy #heart #brain #courage #dountoothers #hope #caring #world #selflessness
My friend text me to ask how I am. I tell her that physically I am in pain, but mentally I am soaring. And thank goodness, the mind stuff far outweighs the physical. I even forget for a few moments that I am in great pain, due to the fact that I overexercised. Overexercising is hard to gauge, perhaps as you get older it gets harder to gauge other things as well. Add this to the list of things to remember. Now if I can just remember that I have this list! Through it all, gratitude and thankfulness permeates. How could it not? Writing prompt: Find something brand new to be thankful for today. Is it something you can share with others? Writing prompt: Deathbed view of your life: which are the shining star moments, the moments that sparkle for you. Can you create more of these? #writingprompt #wordprompt #thankfulness #gratefulness #itsthelittlethings #howareyou #everthankful
Who has lost your respect? Do they have a chance of regaining it, or, once they've slipped off the pedestal, are they done for? Has anyone regained your respect? Are there varying degrees of respect, are they changeable? Writing prompt: Write about how your respect for someone or something, does it grow, and change with time? Writing prompt: Write about your changing respect for some one or some thing. Do you have too many influences from outer sources that need to be evaluated? #writingprompt #wordprompt #respect #character #judgement #discernment #action #beliefs #regard #respect #esteem #admire
I decided to expand on the idea of 'Paper Dosing' mentioned in the previous post (the post on Insight.) If we're going to create a 'dose' from something that is not yet there, would this work too, with something that we really don't know what the perfect solution should be at this moment. And maybe this can be changed every few hours, or each new day. We tend to underestimate the importance of little things, and we could do a lot better with nurturing them. Writing prompt: Observe forms of nurturing that are happening all around you. Can they inspire you to be more nurturing to yourself and others? Writing prompt: Note the sources of nurturing in your life. Do your sources need updating? What would happen if you wrote 'nurturing' on a piece of paper, and then 'paper dosed?' #writingprompt #wordprompt #nurturing #caring #selfcare #writingcare #encouragement #empathy #understanding #nurture #relationships #healingremedy
The dictionary definition of 'insight' includes the word intuition. Insight: "to see intuitively." Reminds me of this Mark Twain quote: "Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions." So, we're covered and perhaps we don't need to worry so much? I know it feels terrible when we make a 'bad' decision, but so much growth comes afterward, given some insight, and intuition and time to ponder. Writing prompt: Write about a memorable decision you made recently that started a trajectory into a whole new direction. Writing prompt: Contemplate your insight/intuition mechanisms... What do you notice about the relationship between insight and intuition in yourself, in regards to recent decisions? #writingprompt #wordprompt #insight #intuition #understanding #learning #adventure #education #experience #MarkTwain
I looked up the difference between faith and trust and I liked what I read: trust is relying on proof, past proofs, whereas faith is relying on as yet unseen components. I am paraphrasing here because I want to see how my own drawn conclusions compare with what I read an hour ago. New discovery for me: my friend Tessa mentioned something called paper dosing, something I had heard of so long ago, I've forgotten about it. It's a kind of faith, isn't it? To trust (there's that word again!) in something unseen as yet... Writing prompt: Contemplate, then write about the difference between faith and trust in your life. Writing prompt: Having faith in something you previously have not. The outcome? Does that surprise you? #writingprompt #wordprompt #faith #trust #hope #believe #moveahead #action #buildupon #outcomes #paperdosing
I found a wallet yesterday. There it was in the street near the grocery store. A quick look inside told me that this belonged to a young man who lived about 5 miles away. After my morning walk with my dog, I set out to find the owner, and I drove to the house where the wallet belonged. The young man's grandmother answered their door and cried tears of joy at the wallet's return. She was so grateful that she gave me a wonderful box of cookies. Two boxes actually. We shared a connection in a very unexpected place! Writing prompt: Write about an unexpected connection that brought both parties surprises. Writing prompt: write about something that could be a sign of things to come. Example: nature provides us with many "signs." #Writingprompt #wordprompt #lostandfound #chocolate #gift #giveandreceive #surprise #treasure #connection #wallet
Divine Will #2 - The Will To Unify - https://www.orindaben.com/pages/divine_will/dwill2/ goes well with our word of the day: Affection. Inviting both into your life can seem to create miraculous events and new ways of seeing, new thoughts, new connection. We saw this beautiful Luna Moth while out on our walk this morning. They symbolize new beginnings, and with the new moon tomorrow, this can mean potential yet to be realized. We can affectionately use this as our symbol for today. And for the new moon. Writing prompt: Call in the Divine Will to Unify into your life. Spend some time contemplating this Will. Write about your experience. Do some new ways of connecting make sense to you? Writing prompt: Write a letter as if from your Divine Self, asking for clarification regarding The Will To Unify. What impressions do you receive? #writingprompt #wordprompt #Affection #DivineWill #TheWillToUnify #LunaMoth #CallUponDivineWill #Writing #newbeginnings #newmoon
Last week, we saw a tree frog near this same spot. They must like the stone, in the weather fluctuations, they find safety and strength. Amazingly resilient, I they must have begun life far from this spot, there's no body of water anywhere near here. At least, not to my mortal eyes. I've also seen painted turtles not far from here.. Nature is filled with testaments to resilience for us. Writing prompt: Where is the least place you expect to find resilience? How could resilience transform this situation? Writing prompt: Write about your connection with resilience and self love. Any patterns, inspirations, new thoughts, awarenesses? #writingprompt #wordprompt #resilience #strength #stone #metamorphosis #transformation #hiddengifts #sustain #story #hibernate
