Another one of those days. Or perhaps, we might say another one of those years. Since the election, sometimes the days feel bleak. Have you noticed this? But a great thing did happen: the fall of Assad in Syria. I listened to a man whose voice was filled with emotion as he spoke of returning to Damascus. His relief, his utter relief at Syria building a new way forward gave the world a bit of hope. We still are waiting for our current president to save democracy. I found out recently that my favorite librarian is leaving the library for a new business venture. I've been working with Tom a few times since last February. We've both learned a lot about Inkscape and the capabilities of the library laser machine, but Tom's knowledge has grown by leaps and bounds! My most recent craft project that I created today at the library - in the Makerlab. I love this font - it's called 'Sentimental Feeling.' Even the champagne bottle and glasses are in the font - in the upper case w and u you get this bottle and glasses. They're cut out of chipboard and I thought they'd make lovely Christmas cards or gift tags. It took a lot of trial and error though, to get this far.. A few of the astrology and/or tarot readers I enjoy watching on YouTube use dowsing rods, and after watching them, my interest was piqued. I don't think I have ever used them myself, nor have I ever been in the presence of anyone using them, but I'd love to try a pair! Like with sourdough bread research, several offers of information exist. It's a matter of sorting through what's available and understanding what makes sense. I will report back! The first Sunday in December and I am feeling like I really want to set a path going forward: getting enrolled in my healthcare and planning/taking action on Christmas gifts. The sooner the better. Funny how one thing gets settled, and brings you relief, then another thing needs settling, and so on...
