What do you do when It's one of those days when you should be patient with yourself? How about some extra encouragement? We are experiencing our second of three days of 80+ heat and I resent it. I looked around and appreciated the things I accomplished anyway, despite the heat: hoses set up, birdbath filled, even a lawn bag filled with clippings. Took all my supplements, and even got a finicky dog to eat. It's been satisfying to look back at all this. Writing prompt: Notice your accomplishments, even on, or especially on a trying day. Lately I've been enjoying listening to the old 'To The Best of Our Knowledge' programs, (fondly remembered as TTBOOK) that ran on WPR (Wisconsin Public Radio) for over thirty years. https://americanarchive.org/special_collections/ttbook will bring you to the archives. Programs begin in 2001. It's interesting to listen and muse about things being so different, yet things being the same.. I especially have a fondness for the programs with author interviews.. Bees too! All of a sudden, there they are! Winter seemed an eternity this year, arriving before Christmas and the world was very different than the one we wake up to now.. New Year's eve seemed on the cusp of a bright and promising new year, sadly, one that I am still waiting for, and hoping for.. You'll hear from me when there is something to celebrate, and hopefully that will be soon. We keep being told that change is good and that things are always happening for the better. Or else we used to be told that a lot.. It could make you feel rage and that would be appropriate at times. I did not realized what a perfectionist I was until I found myself replacing pages in journal redos - I had forgotten a period at the end of a sentence. I edited the page, and then replaced it in the journal. This is a good day to ponder what we spend out time on.. Writing prompt: observe where you spend your time today. Keep track. Writing prompt: Any surprises where your time went? How much of your time is guided by your intuition, how much by instinct? When I consider which journal to redo, sometimes I'm guided by a recent sale, I'll look at the journal and think "Gosh, that can use a new cover." And off I go, into Canva, to do some creating. It's interesting to see how the colors and the choices I've made have changed over the years. The first journal I published was back in 2016, but I am especially proud of the Legacy journals, with prompts. I also am very proud of the Pole Dance journals, and the Nellie Bly updates. If only there were more hours of the day to spend on what we really love doing. What we really love doing. What we really love. How are you spending your time today?
