That can pretty much sum up life - despair to delight. Car troubles. Again. Only this time it's different. I began my day on Sunday driving toward the woods for a sunrise moment only to have my car not accelerate over 20 mph. After briefly pulling over, it still would not accelerate. Sunday morning so there was not much else I could do but drive it back home and park it in the garage until Monday. I felt such despair over that G.D. car AGAIN. Having to empty it out and get it over to the dealer's again. All day Sunday I grumbled and moaned about this and I realized I'd need to have the thing towed. (Note to a future much wealthier self if that is who I am in the future: if at all possible, buy a second car so I am never stuck without any transport again) Everything sorted and the tow truck company called and arranged for Tuesday. Car cleaned out and carefully parked in the driveway and more grumbling and moaning about having to use a towing company. Tow truck guy showed up, as nice as possible, and helped me into the cab so I could ride with him to the car dealer. He began talking about his dog, and then our connection to nature, I mentioned how much I love watching the sunrise and he told me his grandmother (who is mostly Inuit Native) calls it sungazing - to observe the sun at sunrise and sunset, those wonderful moments. His other grandmother has a good deal of native blood as well, and she was a sun worshipper too. He plans to take his kids camping or at least glamping often this spring/summer. He spoke of a spiritual time he'd experienced in Hawaii, up among the clouds, feeling weightless... This was the ride I had been dreading, and it had turned out to be an absolutely delightful and wonderful experience. We can drag our feet into our experiences, or we can be a little more prepared to be surprised and maybe even delighted.
