I experienced some 'pumpkin insecurity' at the local Harvest Fest this morning. And although it is not one of my proud moments, it was definitely a teaching moment for me. (And I've been calling some of my teaching moments "mistakes" lately, to ease off of the burden of the pain of being imperfect.) There were huge cardboard loads of pumpkins as I walked into the fest. There were tables set up to paint the pumpkins. I asked if I could just take a pumpkin and go, and I was told I should do the craft if I wanted a pumpkin. So I hastily took some purple paint and gave my chosen one two triangle eyes and a lopsided mouth and with more purple paint, fangs. I set down my paint brush and left the scene. It wasn't until I drove home that i realized I hadn't even bothered to clean the paint brush for the next person. I had been piggy and thoughtless. Why? Because I wanted the damn pumpkin. Writing prompt: Write about one of your not so proud moments, one of your "mistakes" and how it has helped you become a better person. Today I am grateful for: my pumpkin insecurity and what it taught me about myself #writingprompt #wordprompt #security #pumpkin #learning #mistakes #moments #life #pictureprompt
