How do you know when it's time to move on? I've got this one pretty down pat I think.. Bizarre "events" and "occurrences" begin to happen that make me feel like an outcast. Or, a pariah. (In the Huckleberry Finn sort of pariah, not as an actual outcast of society.) Recently, five different "incidents" happened at a place where I've been quite comfortable, and used to spending a good deal of time at for the past few years. These incidents brought on feelings of discomfort, and rejection. Even ignored, and mildly criticized. I did nothing out of the ordinary, but now there have been these occurrences. MY reaction? To take a good look at where I'm spending my time. And decide if my time would be better spent elsewhere. I grieved a bit, felt shock at why this is happening at this particular time, then took a deep breath and looked at a few options. In the past when this has happened (I don't know if this happens to others, but one way to look at it is that when I get very comfortable in an area of my life, something shakes things up, time to do other things, not be so dependent on this way of spending time, time to be open to other things coming into my life. And that is how I am choosing to look at this. New beginnings are waiting for me to step into them. New places? New discoveries? We will have to wait and see what shows up. I only know that change is good and I think it happens for a reason. Writing prompt: What are your strategies for dealing with change? Writing prompt: Do your strategies need an upgrade? What would that look like? Some folks I know well from back in 1959. Changes!! #writingprompt #change #anotherdirection #newbeginnings #BeginAgain #WhatsNext #Surprise
